Physio Sheffield

 Physiotherapy works

The aim of physiotherapy is to help restore movement and normal body function in cases of illness, injury and disability. Your physiotherapist will look at your individual situation. As well as treating the problem, they may also suggest things you can do on a daily basis to help relieve pain and discomfort.

What to bring to your initial assessment

-Your physiotherapist will need to assess the area of injury and pain but also how this interacts with the rest of your body, please bring shorts if you have a lower limb or low back injury, a vest if you have an upper back, neck, shoulder or arm injury and in general wear loose fitting clothing and sensible footwear that is easy to get on and off.

-If you are coming for running gait analysis wear your running kit and running shoes, and if you are coming with a running injury bring your running shoes as we may like to look at them.

-Feel free to have someone accompanying you during your appointment if you would feel more comfortable, we just ask no more than 1 person so that the treatment area is not overcrowded.

- We are more than happy for you to bring any GP, specialist letters and paper scan/ xray reports for us to look at.

- A list of any current medication you are taking

-Your diary - incase you need to make a further appointment

-We accept payment by card or cash ( unfortunately we are no longer able to accept cheques)

-You will be required to complete a form with contact and GP details etc at initial assessment so bring your reading glasses!

- This, and a covid 19 screening will be emailed to you before your appointment or available on arrival to complete.

-We know sometimes things happen and life gets in the way , all we ask if you have to change your appointment is for as much notice as possible but at least 24 hours.

Please note that late cancellations or failure to attend an appointment may incur a charge, please let us know 24 hours in advance so we can offer the appointment to someone else.
